Visiting Churches

OK. So i visited a new church on Wed and decided i would visit on Sunday as well. The wed service, like HBC was a prayer meeting, with one big difference. They had a missionary come and give his presentation. And about 5 or so min was actually devoted to prayer. I am sorry to say, that while the message that the missionary gave was good, he seemed very unprepared. But, I decided to come on Sunday, to hear the pastor. Well Sunday was different. All the Sunday School classes (except the children's class) met upstairs in the main sanctuary. It was for their yearly anniversary service, celebrating their church's birthday. The pastor didn't bring the message, but had a friend he went to bible school with come and preach. The thing that stuck out first is that he gave us a passage to turn to, and we didn't even get to it for 15 (or at least what felt like) minutes. And it was like that when he delivered the main service as well. What really got to me is that instead of the service being one of edification and teaching us truths from God's Word, he kept going on and on about Islam. As a Christian, i know full well the threat we face from Islam. I know that it's the fastest growing religion out there. I know that they do not like Christianity. But please, i don't need two hours worth of someone going on about it, and not even having what you are talking about go along with the passage you read. The thing i did enjoy about the service was that they had a musical group come in, kinda like Simple Grace. Don't ask me their name, i have no idea. They were really good. But i have to say that i don't think i will be going back to that church again, they may be sound, but if they are letting people preach that aren't even doing their job, it's not a good place to be in.

After The World

This is a wonderful song that was introduced to me by Michael Knipp. It's a song from God's perspective.

A major praise unto God

OK, so here is a major praise. My dad and stepmother are GIVING me their 2003 Saturn Vue!!!!! They told me that it's a birthday gift!. But here is the downfall. I have to give them my Jetta so that they can trade it in for a car for my stepmother. I love that car, not to mention how much money has been put into it in the past 2 years alone - new clutch/flywheel/clutch cable, 4 new tires, head gasket, ect. I am really going to miss this car. I love this car. But God has looked ahead and seen my needs, and in His infinite grace and mercy, has provided me a new vehicle. So many thanks and praises unto the great and awesome LORD Jesus Christ!!!

A Thank You and an arrival

I really want to thank the Knipps and the Woida family for allowing me to stay with them my last 2 weeks. It was an amazingly fun blast! I left Nebraska about 11:45 or so, and arrived in Oklahoma City around 8:15/8:30. I really really really miss everyone already. It just won't be the same without you all. Please continue to pray for me while I am at my dad's house. I love you all and I hope to see you again soon!!

Out of my apartment

So i am all moved out of my apartment (since tuesday) and am now staying with a family from church until i leave. It's hard to believe that this has come so quickly. God has shown His provision over and over again, and lately He has shown me that I really need to be obediant. He has shown me that i can't say one thing, and then do another. He has shown me that there are alot of areas that i really need to work on.

Hey, guess what?! No, that's wrong, that to. OK, need a hint? I turn 24 on monday!!!! I know, it doesn't seem like an age to celebrate, but i have been waiting to turn 24 for 5 years, mainly because i could apply for financial aide w/o having to put my dad's info on the FAFSA, and now, since i have already applied back in July, I am off on my way to college.

Here is another good thing. I finally got my car out of the shop! It was in the shop on monday, and i got it back on friday. I had to wait for parts to come in, and that took forever!!! OK, well, more as it comes!

Almost time for school!!

Hey! Guess what! It's almost time for me to start college!! That's right. I (sadly) leave Bellevue, on the 13 of August to go to Bob Jones University in South Carolina. It's strange, packing up my entire life. I won't see any of my belongings until I get married or I graduate, which ever comes first (preferably the latter). It will be sad leaving my church and all my friends, especially Hannah, Steveo, Matt and Meagan. But I will see them all each summer and at New Years, cuz lets face it, I don't want to spend New Years with my family in OKC. I am almost completely done packing. I have almost everything i need to, save for a suit, and a few other articles of clothing. Well, more as it comes up!
